In order to use WebDAV for data transfer, both the client and the server must support the protocol. Since this is an established standard, however, all common web servers have the corresponding implementation. Furthermore, different operating systems such as Windows (since XP), macOS or Linux now support transfers via the WebDAV protocol by default.
Under Windows for example, you do notwill not need any additional software or drivers. In Explorer you can establish a WebDAV connection to a server after which the corresponding platform will be displayed as a hard drive for data exchange. As is usually the case in Windows, this conversely means that you can open, edit and delete files saved there and save them to the server. This transfer protocol allows users to access files in the cloud and files on a separate server in real time without downloading, storing, processing, or tedious uploading.
