Mobile websites are HTML documents independent of the main pages that are intended for mobile use only. They have a separate URL address. They are often placed under the domain name “m” while their standard pages are characterized by “www”:

Ideally, every website should have a mobile counterpart. Versions may be different. The primary objective is to offer mobile users access to content. We could cite the mobile site of the newspaper Le Monde, which differs significantly from its desktop version, available under mobile.lemonde.fr. The goal here is to display the most important articles of the day. No headings such as “international”, “politics”, or “society” appear. This website is laid out for mobile. This is characterized by an adaptation of the site to the width of the screen, buttons and the abandonment of continuous information flow which requires a large amount of data and therefore resources. On other media such as tablets, mobile websites are the same and are therefore not displayed optimally. These are good reasons to create mobile-friendly websites.
