The downside of selling on Amazon is the percentage of selling fees that Amazon charges based on the price and the products sold. These fees can vary between 8 and 20%. Even using Fulfillment by Amazon, there are shipping and storage costs as well as costs for returns.
The size, reach, and large number of Amazon sellers can also be a drawback, as it is a competitive marketplace with many product categories. There is also the enormous workload of presenting and processing product pages and submitting to Amazon decisions. Thus, sellers’ accounts can be blocked for different reasons, justified or not.
