MySQL version: check the database system

If you find that your version of MySQL is outdated, you should update it as soon as possible. This happens automatically with newer versions, but if your system isn’t up to date, you’ll need to install the update manually. The easiest way to do this is to use cPanel. If your host offers the configuration tool, connect to your Web Host Manager then select « Software » and « MySQL Upgrade ». There you will find a list from which you can select the desired version of MySQL. However, keep in mind that cPanel does not support downgrading. It is therefore recommended to create a backup of your entire database before upgrading.
