If you are facing error code 0x8007000d, the first solution is to call theautomated Windows troubleshooter. He will look for possible causes of the error, before attempting to directly resolve any possible problem. Below you will find the steps to follow to use this tool:
- Start by going to your settings.
- Then select the “Update and Security” section.
- Now, search for the troubleshooter.
- Then choose “Additional troubleshooting utilities”, then “Windows Update”.
- Click “Run” and the system will search. Be careful, this may take a few moments.
If Windows encounters error 0x8007000d, the system will automatically try to resolve the problem. If this method works, all you have to do is try running the update again. On the other hand, if this error is not detected or the system cannot correct it, do not hesitate to try other solutions.
Temporarily disable antivirus programs¶
To correct error 0x8007000d, a second relatively simple solution is available to you; it concerns your antivirus programs and your firewall. Repair files and fix error 0x8007000d¶
If the problem is still not resolved, a faulty system file may be causing the error 0x8007000d. Windows offers you a few commands that may allow you to repair these files independently. To do this, it is necessary torun command prompt as administrator. We explain how to do this below:
- Start by using the keyboard shortcut [Windows] + [R] to open the “Run” window.
- Then enter “cmd” in the input line before simultaneously pressing the keys [Ctrl], [Maj] And [Entrée].
- Confirm this entry again by selecting “Yes”. You can now continue the process with your administrator rights.
- Now enter the following command in the console:
- Confirm your entry using the key [Entrée].
- Wait until the command has been completely executed before restarting your computer.
- Finally, use the DISM command (Deployment Image Servicing and Management, “Management and maintenance of deployment images” in French). To do this, open the console again and enter the following command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

- Confirm your entry again using the key [Entrée], and wait for the process to complete before restarting your device. Now simply reinstall the desired update; you should no longer encounter error code 0x8007000d.
0x8007000d: Reset update components¶
If this method also does not bear fruit, we advise you to reset the update components to get rid of error code 0x8007000d permanently. To do this, simply follow these few steps:
- Start by using the shortcut again [Windows] + [R]then enter “cmd”, use the keys [Ctrl], [Maj] And [Entrée] to confirm and finally select “Yes”. Indeed, you should be able to use your administrator rights again.
- Then, enter the following four commands one after the other. Each time, confirm your entry using the key [Entrée] :
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver

- Now take care of renaming two download folders. Below you will find the two commands to enter for this purpose:

ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak

- Finally, restart the previously suspended services using the following commands:
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

Error code 0x8007000d should no longer appear.
