MongoDB is a NoSQL database management system whose operation differs from that of relational solutions (such as the MySQL system). It does not store datasets in a table, but in a collection, as documents. A number of these collections are then brought together in a single database, where they can be consulted, processed or managed. With this system you can also store different types of data in a single collectionbecause it is a non-schema compliant database.
Typically, it is not necessary for the user to create collections. The system does this on its own when you create a database with the MongoDB Create Database command and add documents to it. But if you want to create your own collection yourself, you should use the MongoDB Create Collection command.
