Solutions to Fix Error 0x80070035¶
The solutions given below can help you fix error code 0x80070035:
Check drive sharing¶
If the error is caused by a drive sharing problemtry the following method:
- Open the target drive on the other computer; using a right click, then select the “Properties” option.
- Go to the “Sharing” tab, then display the “Advanced Sharing” menu.
- At the very top, check the “Share this folder” box, then confirm your choice by clicking “Apply” and “OK”.
- Now try to access the target drive from the network again.
Enable NetBIOS¶
If your “TCP/IP-NetBIOS” service is disabled, be aware that this scenario is often the cause of the error. Indeed, the NetBIOS service facilitates communication between devices within the same local network. So, if this service is not activated, your problem most likely comes from there. To enable NetBIOS, simply follow the steps below:
- Enter “Services” in your Windows search bar, and open the corresponding application.
- You should see a long list of all Windows services installed on your computer, sorted alphabetically. Look for the heading “NetBIOS Support over TCP/IP”.
- Using right-click on the service, then select the “Start” option to enable NetBIOS.
If the error persists, you can use another method to attempt to enable the NetBIOS service:
- Use the keyboard shortcut [Windows] + [R] to open the “Run” dialog box, and enter “ncpa.cpl”.
- A window will then open to display all available network connections. Right-click your network, then click « Properties. »
- Then select the “Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” option.
- Then click on “Properties”, then “Advanced”, and go to the “WINS” tab.
- At the very bottom, in the NetBIOS settings, select « Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP », then click « OK ».
Update network adapter drivers¶
Often, the obsolete network adapter drivers can also be the cause of this error. You can use the method below to update them:
- Open Device Manager; To do this, for example, you can enter the name of the service directly into your Windows search bar.
- In the list, find the item “Network adapters”; expand it, then look for the corresponding network adapter.
- Right-click on it, then select the “Update driver” option.
- Restart your device and try to access the target drive again.
Reinstall all Windows applications¶
If the problem is caused by other Windows applications, it is possible to reinstall all Windows applications already pre-installed :
- Start by opening Windows PowerShell using your administrator rights.
- Then enter the following command: “Get-AppXPackage -allusers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}”, and confirm your entry using the key [Entrée].
- All Windows applications should now be reinstalled.
- Finally, restart your computer and start downloading the application again.
Check a third-party firewall¶
THE third-party firewall can also block access to target device. If you want to access it, you can do the following:
- If you are using a third-party firewall, disable it before accessing the drive; Restart your computer, and check if you can now access it.
- The firewall is used to protect the device. We therefore advise you to add the network you are using to the list of trusted networks of your antivirus software. All you have to do is open it and access the settings, more specifically the section dedicated to the firewall.
- Under “Networks”, all you have to do is complete the list of trusted networks by adding yours. Please note: This method may vary slightly depending on the antivirus software you are using.
